thanksgiving eve
Giving thanks to God for all that He blesses us with - body and soul, clothing and shoes, food and drink, house and home, family and friends, and all that we have - is part of the Christian life of worship. We will gather for a Thanksgiving Eve Divine Service on Wednesday, November 27 at 6:30pm.
Advent
During the season of Advent we gather for midweek worship services on Wednesdays (12/4, 12/11, 12/18). Below are the service details. We would love for you to bring the whole family to eat and worship with us this Advent season.
- Noon Service
- Meal begins at 11:15am
- Service begins at 12:15pm
- Evening Service
- Meal begins at 5:30pm
- Service begins at 6:30pm
Christmas
Christmas Eve candlelight services will be on December 24 at 6:30pm and 9:00pm. The 6:30pm service will include special music by the choirs and musicians. The 9:00pm service will be the Office of Evening Prayer. Come celebrate the the promise of a Savior fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ.
Christmas Day (December 25) we will gather together in worship of the new-born Savior, Jesus Christ. The Divine Service with communion will begin at 9:00am.
New Year Celebration
We invite you to gather in thanksgiving to God for the close of another year on New Year's Eve (12/31/24) for a worship opportunity:
We will be hosting New Year's Eve Diving Service here at St. James at 6:30pm. The service is a joint worship service between all three Quincy LCMS churches (Our Redeemer, St. James, and the Lutheran Church of St. John).
