--in my life, in my home, in our church, in our school, in our community--
To See Jesus
As a community of believers, we want to create a culture in which we place our Lord and Savior before our members' eyes often. Be it in worship, in Christian Education, or in our fellowship with one another, we strive to be a people that sees and recognizes Jesus at work in every aspect our lives. We see Jesus in worship when He serves us with His gifts of Word and Sacrament, and we see Jesus in our midst when we gather in fellowship around His Word. Seeing Jesus is the lens through which we live out Christ's command to "love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength" (Mark 12:30).
To Cause Jesus to Be Seen
We recognize that God always not only calls a people to Himself, but sends those He has gathered out into the world to declare the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). We aim to be intentional then, in causing Jesus to be seen in our lives, in our homes, in our church, in our school, and in our community. We strive to show love, mercy, and compassion just as Christ would. We want Jesus to be the lens through which we both serve those in need and share the Gospel message of Christ--His work to forgive our sin and give us a living and eternal hope. We will cause Jesus to be seen as we live out Christ's command to "love our neighbors as we love ourselves" (Mark 12:31).
Cultural Values to Cultivate in our Midst
1) DEVOTION: Determined committment to Christ, one another, and God's mission
2) COMMUNITY: Intentional building of meaningful relationships of trust
3) LIFE!: Vibrant worship and praise to the One who gives us life!
4) GENEROSITY: Lavish support of the mission with our time, talents, and treasures
5) COMPASSION: Merciful care for each other and those outside our doors
